NC Music Hall of Fame Presents Spring Beach Blast in Wilmington

On Sunday March 24, 2019 The North Carolina Music Hall of Fame will present a fundraiser concert titled “Spring Beach Blast” from the Greenfield Lake Amphitheater in Wilmington, North Carolina. Three legends of beach music will perform live.

Doors at the Greenfield Lake Amphitheater open at 12 noon with the event starting at 12:30 pm. Tickets are $30. The price will increase on the day of the event at $35.

Tickets may be purchased online at the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame museum. Tickets are also available at both Redix locations in the Wilmington, North Carolina area

The following groups will perform live:

The Chairmen of the Board: With one of Soul Music all-time great group names, 1999 NC Music Hall of Fame inductees The Chairmen of the Board have captivated music lovers for over 50 years with hits such as “Give Me Just A Little More Time” and “Everything’s Tuesday”.

The Embers: 2014 NC Music Hall of Fame Inductees The Embers have solidified their position as music group that have left an impression on beach music lovers for decades. With hits such as “I Love Beach Music” and “Far Away Places”. The Embers have created lasting memories since 1958.

Band Of Oz: 2016 NC Music Hall of Fame Inductees Band of Oz is arguably one of the most successful groups in the East Coast Beach Music scene. With 5 decades of memorable hits such as “Shaggin” and “Shama Lama Ding Dong” which is considered to be the most requested beach songs of all time.

About The North Carolina Music Hall of Fame:

The North Carolina Music Hall of Fame Museum is located at 600 Dale Earnhardt Blvd. Kannapolis, NC 28081. The Hall of Fame exhibits memorabilia from those who have been inducted into its Hall of Fame.

The individuals or bands inducted into the Hall of Fame are from all types of genres and all areas of the professional music industry including singers, songwriters, music producers, musicians and music industry executives who have roots in North Carolina.

Exhibits tell the musical career of each inductee with the display of their wardrobe pieces, signed albums, award albums, accessories, and more. Inductions at the Hall of Fame are held annually with a celebration event to recognize and honor these legends who have created N.C.’s rich musical heritage.

  On Thursday, October 16, 2014 the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame’s 2014 Induction Ceremony will be held at the historic Gem Theatre in Kannapolis, NC at 7:15pm.  

2014 CLASS INDUCTEES:

Clay Aiken – Pop Vocalist and 2003 American Idol runner-up, born in Raleigh, NC.

Fantasia Barrino– R&B/Pop Vocalist and 2004 American Idol winner, born in High Point, NC.

Jimmy Capps – Country guitarist, who has played on numerous hit records, TV shows, and has played on the Grand Ole Opry since 1958. Born in Fayetteville, NC raised in Benson, NC.

The Embers – Beach Music Recording Artists known for their top hits ,”I Love Beach Music” & “Far Away Places”. Band formed in 1958 in Raleigh, NC

“Little Eva” – Pop vocalist known for “The Loco-Motion” & “The Turkey Trot”. Born in Belhaven, NC.

Lulu Belle & Scotty –  Country Musicians & Vocalists known as “The Sweethearts of Country Music” in the 1930’s-1940’s. Lulu Belle born in Boone & Scotty born in Spruce Pine, NC.

Talmadge “Tab” Smith – Jazz/R&B Musician & Vocalist who played with Lucky Millinder and Count Basie. Born in Kinston, NC

Link Wray – Rock n’ Roll guitarist and inventor of the power chord. Known for his instrumental hit “Rumble”. Born in Dunn, NC.

  ABOUT THE INDUCTIONS: Inductions at the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame are held annually to honor and commemorate those who have made significant contributions to American music. The Induction Ceremony will be a historical, entertaining, and educational evening honoring some of North Carolina’s most outstanding music makers (entertainment provided by NC Music Hall of Fame inductees.) Tickets for this year’s event are also available for purchase at the NC Music Hall of Fame Museum.  

 

FOR VIP TICKET HOLDERS: SOLD OUT There will be a VIP Cocktail Reception to “Meet & Greet” the inductees at the fashionable Restaurant Forty Six, which is next door to the Gem Theatre, from 6:00pm until 7:00PM. Following the VIP Reception, the guests and inductees will walk the red carpet to the Gem Theatre for the Induction Program. Theater Doors open 6:30PM   FOR GENERAL ADMISSION TICKET HOLDERS: Theatre doors open at 6:30pm. General seating is first come first served. Concessions will be available.
