North Carolina Music Hall of Fame Announces Major Sponsors for 2011 Induction Ceremony – Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury and Hanes Brands of Winston-Salem have become the first major corporate sponsors of the NC Music Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

The other sponsors, to date, include the City of Kannapolis, Castle Cook Realty, First Community Bank, Curb Family Foundation, Curb Records and the Holiday Inn Express – Concord.

This year’s induction ceremony will take place on Thursday, October 13th at the David H. Murdock Core Lab Building in Kannapolis.

This year’s inductees include Country/Rock-a-Billy legend, Billy “Crash” Craddock of Greensboro, Grammy award winning tenor Anthony Dean Griffey of High Point, Kinston native Maceo Parker, a Jazz/Funk sax player who was James Brown’s sideman, Singer/Songwriter Ben Folds from Winston-Salem who is also a judge on NBC’s “Sing Off,” and contemporary Christian recording artist Michael English of Wallace, songwriter/playwright / author Billy Edd Wheeler from Swannanoa, songwriter, John D. Loudermilk of Durham, and the late Blue Grass, singer/songwriter/musician Clyde Moody.

NORTH CAROLINA MUSIC HALL OF FAME MUSEUM ANNOUNCEMENT – In order to provide our visitors to the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame museum greater access to the music and history of the Hall of Fame inductees in the museum, we have attached a QR (Quick Response) bar code format to each of our Inductee exhibits. The format will provide museum visitors, who have a smart phone, to access more information about the inductee’s history and to listen to their videos and musical concerts.

The museum is open free to the public from 10:00 am to Noon and 1:00 to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday and on weekends by appointment.  The facility can also be rented for private parties and receptions.  Photographs of the exhibits and a complete list of the inductees is available on the North Carolina Music Hall Of Fame website.

My Heart Will Always Be in Carolina is a local favorite television show that discovers the fascinating people, places and things found in eastern North Carolina.  They decided to start the new 2011 season highlighting the NC Music Hall of Fame in Kannapolis. Below is an interview with Eddie Ray and Ken Mann of  My Heart Will Always Be In Carolina.

The induction ceremony will be held Thursday, October 13, 2011 in the David H. Murdock Core Laboratory Building in Kannapolis, NC. The evening will include a reception, dinner and induction ceremony with a variety of entertainment. Tickets go on sale September 1st at the
museum and online.
